New Russian Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call On Hon. Oryem

The new Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Uganda, H.E Vladen Semivolos, today morning paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Affairs) Hon. Henry Okello Oryem. 

Hon Oryem welcomed Ambassador Semivolos to Uganda and commended the cordial working relations between both countries. The meeting discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral concern to both Uganda and the Russian Federation. 

In light of Uganda's focus on Economic Diplomacy, Hon Oryem called on the Russian Federation to consider expanding its importation of Ugandan agricultural products, especially fruits and vegetables. 
Ambassador Semivolos was grateful for the hospitality and cooperation that he has so far received from the Government of Uganda. In response to Uganda's focus on Economic Diplomacy, he communicated the intention of his Government to send numerous business delegations to Uganda next year (2022) to explore trade and investment opportunities.
Ambassador Semivolos called on Uganda to participate in the second-Russia Africa summit scheduled for 2022. He also recalled that in the year 2022 Russia and Uganda will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations adding that a number of activities are planned to mark this historic achievement.
