Uganda and Libya Commit to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Today Morning, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakar, Minister of Foreign Affairs met and held discussions with Mr. Mustapha Mohamed Egdara, Charge D'affaires of the Embassy of the State of Libya at the Ministry Headquarters.

Mr. Edgara hailed the Uganda-Libya relations adding that they are of a traditional and historical nature. He was grateful for the support and cooperation so far received from the Government of Uganda. He added that Lybia is highly committed to strengthening these relations as evidenced by the recent high-profile visit of the Vice President of the Libyan Presidential Council, H.E Abdullah Al-Lafi, who met with President Yoweri Museveni in November 2021 in Entebbe. 

Hon. Odongo concurred with the Charge D'affaires stating that the bilateral relations between the two countries are indeed warm and fraternal. He pledged the Governments' support and commitment to the Uganda-Libya cooperation.
