UGANDA AND THE REPUBLIC OF CONGO STRENGTHEN BILATERIAL RELATIONS.

Amb. Patrick  Mugoya, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Republic of Uganda is currently leading a delegation of Government Officials and Ugandan businessmen in a series of follow up meetings taking place  in  Brazzaville at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  and Congolese  in the Diaspora of the Republic of Congo.

 
The main objective of these meetings is to follow up on the implementation of decisions made in a meeting last year   to foster bilateral trade and investment between the two countries. The meeting took place on 16th November 2018 at the Ministry Headquarters, in Kampala

 
In his opening remarks, Mr. Alfred Nkoua, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Congolese in the Diaspora of the Republic of Congo, welcomed Amb. Mugoya and the Ugandan delegation to Congo Brazzaville underscoring the importance of this engagement noting that this will strengthen the cordial relations between both Countries.


Conveying a message of gratitude, Amb Mugoya thanked his counterpart the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Congolese in the Diaspora for the warm reception that was accorded to him and the entire delegation from Uganda reiterating commitment to further strengthening relations between Uganda and the Republic of Congo.

 
In pursuit of similar objectives, both parties agreed to work towards the conclusion of the Agreements on Trade, Agriculture, Agro-Processing & Agri-Buisiness Energy & Mineral Development, Political and Diplomatic Consultations, and MoU on Cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and the Bureau responsible for Standards

 
Furthermore,  Amb Mugoya called for the Conclusion of Agreements on Bilateral Air Services to allow for the free flow of Commerce and improve Connectivity between the two Countries.

YOKOHAMA, JAPAN: President Yoweri Museveni has today met and held a bilateral meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya on the sidelines of TICAD 7 conference in Yokohama, Japan during which the two leaders discussed the issue of sugar and sugarcane exports to Kenya.
