Hon. Sam k. Kutesa meets John Kerry in Washington

On Thursday 12th June 2014,Hon. Sam K. Kutesa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, in Washington, D.C.

At the meeting, the Minister shared with his host the priorities he outlined for the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly, over which he will preside. Secretary Kerry congratulated him on his unanimous election and pledged U.S. support during the 69th Session.

Hon. Kutesa and Secretary Kerry discussed regional peace and security matters and agreed to continue working closely to find solutions to regional challenges especially that of the LRA.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the upcoming U.S. – Africa Leaders¡¯ Summit due to take place in Washington, D.C. on 5th and 6th August 2014, under the theme: "Investing in the Next Generation".
