Amb. Patrick Mugoya concludes official visit to Beijing

On 7th July 2017, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amb. Patrick Mugoya held meetings with Mr. Zhang Ming, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Lin Songtian, Director General of the Department of African Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

The delegations exchanged views on bilateral relations, the political and security situation in the region and other topics of common interest. Both sides agreed to actively advance cooperation in the development of infrastructure especially the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project, industrial parks, agriculture as well as rolling out preferential policies to attract additional investments from Chinese enterprises.

They further agreed to continue regular consultations between the two ministries at different levels noting that the exchanges of high level visits as well as mutual understanding and support on core issues of concern benefit the citizens of both countries.

The PS was accompanied by Amb. Arthur Kafeero (Ag. Director), Amb. Phillip Odida, (Head Asia & Pacific Department), Amb. Henry Mayega, Charge d’affaires.a.i and officials of the Embassy.

GOVERNMENT OF UGANDA SIGNS AGREEMENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE OIL REFINERY IN KABAALE - HOIMA DISTRICT., 11th-April 2018

The Uganda Government has, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development together with the Uganda National Oil Company, today entered into the Project Framework Agreement (PFA) the with Albertine Graben Refinery Consortium(AGRC) for the development of the oil refinery.
