MOFA SACCO ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Today 30th November, 2016, at the Employees Cooperative Savings and Credit Society (SACCO) Annual General Meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the members elected a new Executive Committee to manage the Savings and Credit Cooperative.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Limited SACCO was registered on 6th January 2011 Registration number 9488/RCS. But it has over the time become inactive. Today therefore marks a new chapter, with a promise of a renewed savings culture. 

The by laws governing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs SACCOstipulates that:

"The Committee shall consist of 7 memberselected as office bearers to include the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer and 4 committee members"

As guided by article 26 of the SACCO constitution, we are pleased to announce to you the following new executive committee members: 

Dr. Sam Omara as Chairperson, Anne Babinaga as Vice Chairperson, Florence Wanaswa as Treasurer, and the 4 committee members are Samson Kayondo, Ivan Kakama, Medard Ainomuhisha and Richard Lwamafa. 

The committee shall be responsible for overall direction of the SACCO and the determination of its policies.

Article 41 also provides for a supervisory committee consisting of 3 members whose core responsibility is the SACCO's compliance and internal controland oversight. It is also responsible for the truth and accuracy of the SACCO's financial condition and for making sure that the SACCO's administrative practices and procedures are adequate to safeguard the members' and institution's rights and interests. 

The new supervisory committed members are Bernadette Mwesige Ssempa and Brenda Byonabye Biraawa.

The Annual General Meeting was attended by staff of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the SACCO.
