Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts a farewell luncheon for the retiring German Ambassador to Uganda

The retiring German Ambassador to Uganda H.E Klaus Dieter Duxmann and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sam Kutesa at the luncheon held at Fang Fung Restaurant.

At the luncheon to bid farewell to the retiring German Ambassador to Uganda H.E Klaus Dieter Duxmann, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sam Kutesa observed that "Germany remains a very important country in Europe for Uganda to deal with in terms of trade, investment and most recently the promotion of tourism". He thanked H.E Duxmann for playing a significant role in the Uganda-German bilateral relations and hoped that he would continue promoting Uganda in his retirement. Minister Sam Kutesa wished H.E Duxmann all the success in his future endeavors and reiterated that the Ministry will extend the same cooperation and support to his incoming colleague.

On his part, H.E Duxmann said "he had been humbled by Uganda¡¯s hospitality over the three and half years of his tour of duty¡± and commended the professionalism and openness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff. During his time, he has significantly promoted Uganda-German relations and one of his priorities was to bolster economic cooperation and Investment promotion, especially in agriculture.

The luncheon was held at Fang Fung Restaurant, Communications House, Kampala.
In attendance were the Dean of Diplomatic Corps and the High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago to Uganda H.E. Patrick Edwards, the EU Ambassador to Uganda H.E Kristian Schmidt, the Deputy Ambassador of German to Uganda, Amb. Joachim Duster, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. James Mugume, Chief of Protocol, Amb. Charles Sentongo and other staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
