Presenting Of Credentials By H.E Dr. Michal Mlyna Ambassador of Slovakia to Uganda

H.E DR. Michal Mlyna Ambassador of Slovakia to Uganda on 19th May 2015 Presented his credentials to Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hon. Oryem Okello, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Kampala. DR. Mlyna started off by appreciating the opportunity to serve in his duty and mentioned that he is looking forward to working hand in hand with the Minister in his respective duties. He has also come on board with very many ideas and activities that can help strengthen the bilateral relations between Uganda and Slovakia.

Some of the key bilateral issues that are very important to Slovakia are Security, defense and technology.  Ugandan pilots will benefit from training in Slovakia with their planes that will come to Uganda with spare parts.

Slovakia also intends to carry out water purification projects, using a machine called "water miracle". This machine pumps up to 30,000 liters of clean and purified drinking water per hour, which can be used in communities without water or can even be commercialized. The filters on this machine last up to 5-7 years without replacement as they have a self cleansing mechanism.

Other areas include ICT, Education; here Ugandans can get quality vocational training and opportunities to study in Slovakia as their government gives 48 scholarships globally per year. In agriculture; agricultural research and agricultural machinery (the machinery company is considering setting up shop in East Africa) since Slovakia is also an agricultural Country.
