Press Statement on the AU Mission in Juba

The AU Mission in Juba, comprising of the Chair, who is the Prime \r\nMinister of Ethiopia and also the current Chair of AU; Hon Okello Henry \r\nOryem, Minister of State for International Affairs; Ministers of Foreign\r\n Affairs for Djibouti, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan; and the AU Commissioner \r\nfor Peace and Security.
\r\n
\r\nThe main purpose of the mission is to get the government and all other \r\nparties to immediately engage in dialogue as the only viable and \r\nsustainable solution to the crisis.
\r\n
\r\nTherefore the mission is urging all the parties in the current crisis in\r\n South Sudan, without exception, to mobilize South Sudanese for calm, \r\ntolerance, patience, national unity and forgiveness, and to refrain from\r\n any statements or utterances that may aggravate the situation.
\r\n
\r\nFinally, they further urge for immediate commencement of the dialogue by all parties.
\r\n
\r\nIn the mean time the Government of Uganda has taken the necessary \r\narrangements to air-lift the seven (7) identified Ugandans injured in \r\nthe South Sudan conflict using the UPDF helicopters, including those who\r\n have voluntarily decided to come back to Uganda.

Today 18th January 2018 Amb Blaak, Brussels had a meeting in the Netherlands with Wageningen university officials to brainstorm on developing a programme to combat the "false coddling moth", which is rampant in roses and capsicum exported into the EU and causes many consignments to be rejected as being non compliant with EU phytosanitary standards.
