Medical Services for the 2010 AU SUMMIT IN UGANDA  
 Entry Formalities 
  • Health authorities in Uganda require a valid immunization certificate against        Yellow Fever.
  • Malaria is endemic in Uganda and is caused by Plasmodium falciparam. Malaria prophylaxis is highly recommended.
  • Health Insurance is recommended.
  • Participants who require special medical attention are requested to make prior arrangements  with the Secretariat by forwarding details of their medical requirements.
  • All travelers are requested to observe the International Health Regulations (2006) on   public health requirements and measures for travelers, and take    appropriate preventive health measures for travel to the tropics.
 Health and Emergency Services
  • Government of Uganda will cover basic healthcare and emergencies.
  • Delivery of Health Services will run during the period of the Summit.
  • Mulago Hospital and other hospitals will be on a 24hr alert.
  • Major venues/hotels will have Static Units supported by Mobile units.
  • Ambulance services will be provided for participants Motorcades on request.
  •  A list of hospitals and emergency telephone contacts has been provided in the participants  Handbook.
