The operationalising of the Diaspora website is yet another milestone in the Governments effort to integrate the many Ugandans and people of Uganda origin (the Diaspora Ugandans) into the mainstream of life and opportunities that abound in Uganda.

I call upon you to register and indicate your contacts on the website. The website belongs to you.

The website is going to be a two way mirror; it will inform you what is happening at home, it will also be a contact point to know who is where. This is in an effort to establish seamless interaction, your comment and suggestions will be most welcome particularly on the content of the website so that it can be improved to serve you better, The Government is hoping to establish a link though this mechanism with Ugandans in general especially the professionals working abroad to enable them contribute ideas and knowledge. It is our hope that the merging of Diaspora talents, experience, training and qualifications, with the strong work ethics and best practices learnt from all over the world, will in itself have transformational impact on the development of the country.

The establishment of this website is further testimony to Governments commitment, which also includes the grant of dual citizenship to strengthen the bond between the Diaspora and your mother land Uganda.

I would like to emphasize once again that, this is an opportunity for Government and the Diaspora Community to articulate and address together the responsibilities and challenges ahead of us.
