East Africa get first marketing directory

A BUSINESS directory for the East African Community (EAC) common market has been launched to guide and provide information for the business community in the five member countries.
Dr. Davis Musinguzi, the general manager of the East African Main Directory, told reporters last week that the directory would be distributed and availed in all the post offices in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
“The main directory will be unique because it can be accessed online, through mobile phones, and on paper prints with the entire database to provide information guidance for businesspeople and other stakeholders,” Musinguzi said.


“We are putting up all measures and data base in collaboration with the rest of the post offices in other five countries across the region in order to promote the EAC common market,” Musinguzi pointed out during the Kampala launch event.
The EAC common market was launched on July 1, effectively swinging open the regional borders.
